4 arrested in connection with 2020 murder, one suspect still at large
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A Carencro man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the murder of his father in 2020, authorities said.
Leeland Bryce Valliere, 33, of Carencro, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the murder of his father, Joseph Vallian, in 2020. Valliere was arrested on a warrant by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office on Wednesday.
According to a news release Thursday, the following suspects were also arrested in connection with the crime:
- Rasheed Omar Zachary, 31, of Opelousas, charged with second-degree murder
- Dennis Patrick Guillory Jr., 35, of Church Point, charged with second-degree murder
- Lester Ray Johnson, 32, of Opelousas, charged with second-degree murder
The sheriff's office said Desmond Demond Richard, 33, of Opelousas, is wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for one count of second-degree murder.

Vallian was killed in Lawtell in September 2020. Vallian's body was discovered after an investigation into an incident in the 400 block of McClellan Street. An autopsy showed Vallian’s cause of death to be blunt force trauma.
Valliere and five others were indicted in the incident in August.
