R Ashwin Achieves Special feat with his Century against Bangladesh in Chennai
Experienced all-rounder R Ashwin did an amazing job in stealing the show on the opening day of the first Test between India and Bangladesh on September 19 as he hit a magnificent century.
This marked his 6th century in Tests and helped India recover from an early breakdown of wickets. His knock put India in a strong position along with him achieving a few new feats.
Ashwin has become the fourth Indian batter who has scored a Test century after turning 38. He joined the club with former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid, Vinoo Mankad, and Vijay Merchant.
Dravid had smashed 5 centuries in Tests, and Mankad had 2 on his name. These two were the only Indian batters to have more than one century to their name after turning 38.
