Bears predictions: Week 3 at Colts

The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Sunday in Indianapolis.

Bears, 23-13: If there were ever a game for the Bears' offense to start getting better, this would be it. The Colts have given up a combined 474 rushing yards in their first two games. If the Bears can run, it'll help the passing game — and keep Caleb Williams safer. This season: 2-0.

Bears, 21-20: It’s curious Williams hasn’t thrown an NFL touchdown yet. Maybe the Bears will block this week. Maybe they’ll run on the Colts' lousy run defense. Maybe Willams will figure out the NFL. Could happen. This season: 2-0.

Bears, 28-13: The Colts have given up 474 rushing yards in two games. This should be the game the Bears' ground game introduces itself to the NFL and the offense finds some semblance of life. This season: 2-0.

Colts, 21-20: The Colts are desperate to avoid an 0-3 start. As the Bears can tell you, there’s no shame in losing to the Texans or at the Packers. The Colts can’t get to 21 without a touchdown on defense or special teams, though. This season: 2-0.

Bears, 25-19: Very little is going right for the Colts on either side of the ball, which sets up well for the Bears to take what will look like a step forward. The question will be whether it’s legitimate. This season: 2-0.

Bears, 24-13: The Bears will make a point to establish the run after Williams was sacked seven times last week against the Texans and are better equipped than they’ve been to take advantage when the Colts respond. This season: 2-0.
