Cops probing death of girl, 12, after mum claimed she died in ‘game gone wrong’ – as cause of death still ‘undetermined’
POLICE are probing the death of a 12-year-old girl after her mum claimed she died in a “game gone wrong”, an inquest heard.
Honey Foxx French, 12, was discovered dead at her home in Pembrokeshire, Wales, on October 19.
An inquest heard today how a cause of death for the schoolgirl has still “not been determined” following a post mortem.
It was also told a “full investigation” is being carried out by police with enquiries ongoing.
Honey’s mum Jessica previously said her daughter died in a “game gone wrong”.
A Haverfordwest coroner’s officer report said emergency services were called at 10.25am on October 19 “regarding the welfare of a child.”
Tragically, Honey couldn’t be saved and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics an hour-and-a-half later.
The report added: “A post-mortem examination was carried out at West Wales General Hospital by Dr Richard Jones, the result of which is unknown at this time.
“Police have launched a full investigation with ongoing enquires.”
The full inquest was adjourned until a later date.
Dyfed Powys Police previously confirmed Honey’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
It came after mum Jessica said: “This was a horrible accident, a game gone wrong.
“Our hearts are shattered; she was the most loved little girl of all.”
Tributes flooded in for the creative youngster, who attended Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi secondary school.
The school said: “It is with great sadness that we announce that one of our pupils passed away unexpectedly at the weekend.
“Honey French was much loved and cherished by all who knew her, and was a valued member of our school community here at Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA.
“She was a keen performer and writer who gave generously of her humour, time and talents to support our school family and wider community – and she will be very much missed.
“Our love, thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this sad time.”
