25 people pleaded guilty to being a part of a drug trafficking ring, per the Attorney General's Office. Also, a casting call for a Hallmark movie has been announced in Albany. These stories, and more, are in your five things to know this Wednesday.
1. 25 plead guilty in Capital Region drug trafficking ring
The New York Attorney General’s office announced that 25 people have pleaded guilty for their roles in a major drug trafficking ring operating in the Capital Region. One defendant, Elvis Colon, was sentenced Monday to 12 1/2 to 15 years in prison.
2. Casting call for Hallmark film in Albany
HBG Casting LLC announced that it is now casting background actors and actresses for a Hallmark film. The company says that the film is starring Rachael Leigh Cook.
3. Capital Region trick-or-treating hours for Halloween
Halloween is coming up this Thursday, October 31. Some municipalities in the Capital Region have designated trick-or-treating hours, while others do not.
4. The new way to grade students in Schenectady
On October 4th, the Schenectady City School District approved a new grading policy that went into effect districtwide. Tuesday night was the first of three parent meetings where the district explained the new policy to parents. It’s called the Grading for Equity policy.
