FACT CHECK: Personnel recruitment ads posted by unauthorized page – PH Coast Guard
Claim: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) published several posts across multiple Facebook pages saying that they are hiring personnel.

Why we fact-checked this: Several Facebook posts published on multiple job hiring pages in Facebook contained the claim.
One post by Facebook page PRC Job Opportunities has over 1,600 reactions, 2,100 comments, and 11,000 shares as of writing.
The posts also contain links to an alleged application page for the job vacancies.
Unauthorized posts, pages: The CGHRMC said in a Facebook post on November 3 that the posts about job vacancies in the agency and the PCG were unauthorized.
“Ang Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) Facebook Page na may 237k followers at ang Philippine Coast Guard official Facebook page lang ang AWTORISADONG FACEBOOK PAGE sa paglalabas ng mga lihitimong balita patungkol sa recruitment,” the CGHRMC said.
(The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) Facebook Page with 237,000 followers and the Philippine Coast Guard official Facebook page are the only Facebook pages authorized to release legitimate news about recruitment.)

Fake URL: The links included in the unauthorized job postings are also fake. The uniform resource locators (URL) in the posts redirect to a website with a “.com” domain name, unlike the official PCG website that has a domain name of “.gov.ph.”
Providing personal information through these fake application sites may expose users to potential phishing scams. (READ: Phishing 101: How to spot and avoid phishing)
