Gusty winds, heavy rain Monday morning across Oregon and Washington
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Get ready for plenty of dry time this week! The forecast is calling for dry skies from Tuesday night to Friday afternoon.
But our next system arrives Monday, bringing in the rain and breezy conditions across the Portland metro and much of Southwest Washington. Daytime highs are expected to only reach the mid-50s throughout the Willamette Valley on both Monday and Tuesday.
Soaking rain across Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington is expected around 9 a.m. on Monday, with the numerous rain showers later in the day becoming more spotty in nature.
Weather Alerts
A number of wind alerts are in place across the foothills of the Blue Mountains of Oregon and Washington, as well as the Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and Washington until early Tuesday morning.
Strong west winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected with gusts up to 55 to 70 mph are possible and may cause downed tree limbs and power outages.
There are no wind alerts in the Willamette Valley, but gusts up to 30 mph are possible in Portland today.
Isolated rain showers are in the forecast for Tuesday during the morning and early afternoon, but by our evening hours on Election Day, drier skies look to prevail.
Looking at the middle part of our week, plenty of blue skies and warmer days return as afternoon temps get close to or reach 60 degrees around the metro.
But we are also going to see chilly morning temperatures come Thursday and Friday with the lows looking to hover right around 39 degrees. So bundle up in the mornings!
