Josie Gibson reveals Alison Hammond had to save Christmas after she got drunk on vodka while cooking their festive feast
JOSIE Gibson has revealed she almost ruined Christmas after getting drunk – and pal Alison Hammond had to save the day.
The This Morning presenters spent Christmas Day together in 2022 and Josie, 39, confessed she got a bit too excited during the festivities.
Speaking to The Sun’s TV Mag, the former Big Brother winner shared her tips for a smooth celebration.
Josie said: “My biggest tip is to not get too excited and have too much of a tipple before you start cooking.
“The year before last I had too much to drink early on and I nearly ruined the whole dinner.
“I didn’t keep my timings in order. I had Alison Hammond coming round and she had to save the dinner for me. It was so bad.”
Josie continued: “My brother brought me round this special vodka and I thought I’ll have a few of them.
“That was it then. Believe it or not, I rarely drink. So, I only really drink on special, special occasions. And Christmas is one of them, so it goes straight to my head.”
Josie – who is mum to five-year-old son Reggie – previously opened up about her close bond with Alison, who also shot to fame on Big Brother.
She told Now: “Ali and I have been friends since 2013. We’ve been going on holiday together for years.
“She’s got this way about her – you just want to be around her. I hate that I’ve got to share her with everybody!”
Both Josie and Alison have become huge fixtures at This Morning in recent years after initially presenting competitions and other segments for the ITV show.
Alison and co-host Dermot O’Leary took over from show presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes in 2021.
And Josie stepped up to become a main host in 2023.
