The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has taken disciplinary action against 172 of its members in the past six months for misconduct. Since 2007, over 2,600 cases have been investigated, with hearings concluded in over 2,200. Penalties range from fines to lifetime removal from the ICAI register.
