The 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship will feature the No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes (13-2) taking on the No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (14-1) on Monday, January 20, 2025. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
The Buckeyes head into the matchup after winning 28-14 over the Texas Longhorns in their last outing on Jan. 10. Their last time out, the Fighting Irish took down the Penn State Nittany Lions 27-24. In that matchup with the Longhorns, Will Howard had 289 yards on 24-of-33 passing (72.7%) for the Buckeyes, with one touchdown and one interception. TreVeyon Henderson totaled 42 rushing yards on six carries (7.0 yards per carry). He added one catch for 75 yards and one touchdown. Carnell Tate had seven receptions for 87 yards (12.4 per catch) against the Longhorns. Riley Leonard recorded 223 passing yards while going 15-for-23 with one touchdown and two interceptions for the Irish against the Nittany Lions. He added 18 carries for 35 yards and one touchdown. Jeremiyah Love put together an 11-carry, 45-yard game (4.1 yards per attempt) with one touchdown, while also adding one reception for six yards . Jaden Greathouse caught seven passes on eight targets for 105 yards (15.0 yards per reception), and scored one touchdown.
