Tottenham Hotspur might have to change course after it emerged that they are expected to miss out on their leading centre-back target, Abdukodir Khusanov, who is now being backed to complete a switch to Manchester City.

That potentially throws a spanner in the works of Spurs’ transfer plans, with the Lilywhites potentially having to turn to their Plan B.

It has now emerged that Ange Postecoglou may turn their attention to Mali international defender, Senou Coulibaly, whose current deal runs out in the summer.

This update comes from Africa Foot, who point out that Coulibaly‘s impressive displays for Cypriot club, AC Omonia, this season have really piqued Tottenham’s interest.

The North London club have been particularly impressed with how the 30-year-old has fared in the Europa Conference League this season and are now keen on signing him.

The report adds that Spurs appreciate the centre-back’s profile and are ‘currently in discussions’ over a deal to bring him to Hotspur Way.

Tottenham face competition for Senou Coulibaly

However, Spurs are not the only club who have made a move for the Coulibaly, with West Ham and Fiorentina also alleged to have held talks with him.

In fact, Africa Foot say that the Hammers are now planning a meeting to discuss a transfer deal for the player, having watched him closely this season.

Meanwhile, the publication also asserts that AC Omonia have still not given up hope of tying down the Malian to a new contract.
