Social Media CEO Pavel Durov Announces He's Fathered Over 100 Children
A major social media CEO and billionaire has announced that he's fathered more than 100 children in 12 different countries.
Pavel Durov runs the platform Telegram. His net worth is estimated at more than $17 billion by Forbes.
And he's revealed that all of the kids will share in his fortune.
He's not the only social media CEO who has touted his large number of offspring; X CEO Elon Musk is famous for doing just that.
But Musk has never announced a solid number, and certainly not one that high.
Durov made the revelation in a sweeping June 19 interview with the French publication Le Point. The magazine asked him how many kids he has.
"Six of whom I am the official father, whom I had with three different partners. The others come from my anonymous donation. The clinic, where I started donating sperm 15 years ago to help a friend, told me that more than 100 babies had been conceived this way in 12 countries," he said.
He also made it clear that he is treating all of his kids equally.
"I wrote my will very recently... I decided that my children would not have access to my fortune until a period of 30 years has elapsed, starting from today. I want them to live like normal people, to build themselves up alone, to learn to trust themselves, to be able to create, not to be dependent on a bank account," he said.
"I want to specify that I make no difference between my children: there are those who were conceived naturally and those who come from my sperm donations. They are all my children and will all have the same rights! I don't want them to tear each other apart after my death," Durov told Le Point.
