TikTok Sending Creepy Notifications From Random Accounts & Users Are Worried
TikTok users are worried after getting strange notifications that they were removed as moderators by the accounts Xd.Nikita and Discord.gg_knifes. These mass notifications were sent to users who say they were never moderators in the first place and, in fact, have no idea who the TikTok accounts are.
The notifications were sent on June 20. They read that the account "removed you as a moderator for their LIVE." Beneath the message was an additional note: "You can still enjoy their LIVE."

But the problem is that TikTok users say they have no idea who these people are and were never moderators in the first place.
The alerts came nearly a week after the same notice was sent out about a user named glqmmultis. A mix of funny and worried videos went viral on TikTok about the strange notification, and TikTok did not address the issue. Was it a glitch? A hack?

On TikTok, rumors are rampant about what the notification means. Initially, an explanation circulated suggesting that anyone who participated a TikTok Live battle and sent gifts may have gotten the message.
However, many users who received the notification had never participated in a Live battle on TikTok.
Another TikTok user, Taeshonmiller1, said a friend claimed it meant that TikTok users had been hacked. "I suggest that everyone change all their passcodes and information immediately," she said. However, no evidence was included to prove this theory.
In a Reddit discussion about the notifications, one person noted that TikTok users typically have to be mutual friends before being added as a moderator, and the people getting the notifications were not. Others guessed that it might be bot activity trying to get people to visit the profiles or simply a TikTok glitch.
With the newest round of mass moderator removals, many TikTok users say they've decided to simply block any accounts they get the strange notifications about. Others are changing their password just to be on the safe side.
As of the time of this article's publication, TikTok had not addressed the notifications or what caused them.
