ESPN Getting Roasted for Showing Angel Reese Highlight
ESPN picked a weird time to show a highlight of Chicago Sky and WNBA star Angel Reese making a 3-pointer.
Reese's Sky were taking on the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday afternoon and things did not go well. Chicago had its doors blown off by the second-place Mercury squad, losing 107-86.
With the Sky trailing by 22 points in the third quarter, Reese hit what was the definition of a routine 3-pointer.
After the basket, ESPN tweeted out a highlight of it as if she had done something groundbreaking by draining a wide-open three, and even included a "face with steam from nose" emoji.
The outlet was promptly roasted for it, with some even accusing ESPN of forcing Reese on fans.

"Why is someone (anyone) making a basic three point shot worthy of a highlight post?" one reply asked.
"I'll never understand why ESPN continues to force one of the worst WNBA players on us over and over again," another comment said.
"This is wild posting a random 3 as they're down 20," one user pointed out.
"LOL, her team is 20+ down at home... and this is the highlight?! Hahahahahaha," another person joked.

Now, to say Reese is one of the worst players in the WNBA is way too strong, but it is silly for ESPN to post this highlight considering the situation, even though Reese isn't a good 3-point shooter.
With that make, Reese is now shooting 22.2% from beyond the arc in 2025. She finished Saturday's loss with nine points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. The Sky continue to struggle and are 3-9.
