India has approved a Rs 20,000 crore project to build six new Awacs India systems for the IAF, enhancing its surveillance capabilities. Based on modified Airbus A321 planes, these aircraft will feature advanced radar and surveillance systems, acting as flying command centers. The indigenous systems aim to provide all-round surveillance and reduce dependence on foreign platforms.
