The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no longer a danger of tsunami waves on Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula after five powerful earthquakes struck nearby on Sunday. The largest quake, with a magnitude of 7.4, occurred 144 kilometers east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a depth of 20 kilometers. Smaller — but still substantial — quakes hit the same area before and after. Russia's Emergencies Ministry also issued a warning, urging coastal residents to avoid the shore. No casualties have been reported so far.
