Little bumps for the keen
Hello Friends,
Thanks to a 1.24 m 8-9 second period east swell there were waves at Dee Why this morning. It’s not amazing, but the bigger ones had wave faces approaching chest high. They weren’t looking too punchy, so if you’re going for a splash, take your floatiest surf toy for the best results. Wind was out of the west at 7-10 kts before 0900, but the Bureau tells us to expect a swing to the NE and get into the 10-15 kt range. Tide was high at 0455. It’ll be back to low at 1030.
From the shape of this morning’s swell models, there should be waves along the lines of what we have this morning right across the work week to come. Beachwatch tells us the water’s clean but also a bit chillier at 17.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge in the south and trough across the northern waters are bringing south to southeasterly winds to the coast. Ahead of a cold front crossing NSW, the winds turn north to northeasterly through today, starting in the south, freshening on Tuesday before a southerly change on Wednesday behind which another belt of high pressure settles over the coast on Thursday.

- Northeasterly about 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the early afternoon. Winds reaching up to 20 knots offshore in the late evening.
