India has installed 3.46 crore smart electricity meters nationwide, including 2.27 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The RDSS, with a significant outlay, aims to install 20.33 crore smart meters by June 2025. Additionally, numerous pumped storage projects and hydro electric projects are under development, with several DPRs approved by the Central Electricity Authority.
