Burdoin Fire passes 10k acres, still uncontained
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The Burdoin Fire, burning near White Salmon, Washington, crossed 10,000 acres overnight as crews continue working to contain the blaze.
According to fire officials, as of Monday morning, the fire is burning an estimated 10,730 acres and is currently 0% contained.
The fire started Friday afternoon just east of Bingen in Klickitat County, near Milepost 68.
Over the weekend, the fire destroyed 14 homes, damaged 37 and 250 more are currently threatened, according to the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center.
According to officials, the fire is currently moving north and northeast over steep terrain, and multiple scooper aircraft and helicopters are working to support firefighters on the ground.
More resources are also on the way to help battle the fire.
All evacuations for the surrounding area remain in place, with evacuation shelters open at Columbia High School in White Salmon as well as The Dalles Middle School.

Highway 14 is still closed from milepost 66 to milepost 76. Officials are warning travelers to find an alternate route around the area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
