Malcolm-Jamal Warner Seen in Costa Rica Photo Before Tragic Death
Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who starred as Theo Huxtable on the beloved sitcom The Cosby Show, died tragically while on a family vacation in Costa Rica.
Warner drowned after being caught in a high current and asphyxiating, Costa Rican authorities told ABC News.
Now, what may be the final photo of Warner has emerged.
TMZ has published a photo showing Warner at the Costa Rica airport.
According to TMZ, Warner was "looking forward to some R & R in Costa Rica just one week before his tragic passing" when the photo was taken at the airport.
The photo was taken on July 13 when the actor arrived in the vacation spot from an Atlanta flight, TMZ noted. He was photographed wearing a baseball cap
According to TMZ, Warner leaves behind a wife and daughter, although their names are not clear. It was not immediately clear who was on the family trip with the actor.
However, Warner did open up about his wife in a recent podcast.
Warner told the Hot and Bothered podcast that he realized his wife was the one, saying “even if something happened and we weren’t together romantically anymore, she’d still be the person I’d want to raise children with.”
Warner's final Instagram post, save for a joint post by someone else, was posted on July 6.
That post touted the King Center and "Be Love Day."
According to ABC News, Warner's death occurred near Cocles, a beach in the city of Limon, in Costa Rica, per police there.
Variety noted that Warner "was a beloved fixture of 1980s television," earning an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Theo.
He was a teenager then, and his character was a "fan favorite," according to Variety.
Warner's Instagram page has now filled up with tributes from heartbroken fans in the wake of his death.
