The Trailer for Brendan Fraser's New Movie Just Dropped
Brendan Fraser is set to star in a new movie called Rental Family, which is hitting theaters later this year.
The film, which is set to release on Nov. 21 and comes from Searchlight Pictures, is a comedic drama and is directed by Hikari and stars Fraser, Takehiro Hira, Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Gorman, and Akira Emoto.
"Set against modern-day Tokyo, RENTAL FAMILY follows an American actor (Brendan Fraser) who struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese "rental family" agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers," the description of the movie says.
"As he immerses himself in his clients' worlds, he begins to form genuine bonds that blur the lines between performance and reality. Confronting the moral complexities of his work, he rediscovers purpose, belonging, and the quiet beauty of human connection."
On Tuesday, Searchlight Pictures unveiled the trailer for the film. Take a look.

Once a massive star in the 1990s and 2000s, Fraser's career hit a long lull for several years before he resurrected his career with The Whale in 2022, which led to the actor winning an Academy Award for Best Actor.
“I was never that far away,” Fraser said of his career in 2022. “You can’t get rid of me that easy. But I’m glad to have a job. I’m still expecting somebody to walk over to me, hand me a dish towel and say, ‘Fraser, get back in the kitchen.’”
Hikari, who is also responsible for the screenplay of Rental Family, is best known for other films that include Beef, 37 Seconds and Tokyo Vice.
