Mizoram is currently enrolling refugees from Myanmar and Bangladesh biometrically. The process is happening across 11 districts. Serchhip district started the drive in July. Technical issues and poor network connectivity are challenges. Around 33,000 Myanmar refugees and over 2,370 from Bangladesh are seeking shelter. The Mizoram government trained officials for data collection after the Myanmar coup in 2021.
