On the first anniversary of the R.G. Kar rape and murder, the parents of victim Abhaya were allegedly beaten by Kolkata Police while marching to the Nabanna state secretariat during the ‘Nabanna Abhijan’ protest. Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari claimed at least 100 people, including BJP MLAs, were injured as police used lathicharge at several locations, including Park Street.
