Pete Alonso ties New York Mets home run record
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- First baseman Pete Alonso has officially tied the New York Mets' franchise home run record.
Alonso blasted his 252nd homer at the American Family Field on Saturday evening, following a 1-2 count against Brewers' pitcher Tobias Myers in the top of the second inning.
The Mets are hoping to build momentum after only winning one out of their last ten games.
All eyes will now be on Alonso, as he seeks to break Darryl Strawberry's record that has stood for 35 years.
The Amazin' Mets will return to Citi Field for a three-game series against struggling division rivals, the Atlanta Braves.
