Pakistan’s decision to block Indian-registered aircraft from its skies has cost the Pakistan Airports Authority more than ₹1,240 crore in just over two months, according to its defence ministry. The ban, introduced after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty following a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, has reduced Pakistan’s transit traffic by nearly 20 per cent. Both countries continue to restrict each other’s airspace amid ongoing military and diplomatic tensions, with the restrictions now set to last until late August.
