Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat before heading to the Red Fort to hoist the tricolour and deliver his 12th consecutive Independence Day address, as India marked its 79th Independence Day under the theme ‘Naya Bharat’, aimed at achieving ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
