Aldi's New Honey Maple Cedar Plank Salmon Is Perfect For Fall Grilling
Aldi is known for their variety and quality of salmon products, both fresh and frozen. And they’re constantly launching new versions that customers love. This month, they are dropping a new flavor that’s perfect for autumn cooking, and it comes with a special cooking apparatus.
The Honey Maple Cedar Plank Salmon from the Aldi Finds section is making waves. This piece of fresh Atlantic salmon is fresh, never frozen, and is marinated in honey maple seasoning. It comes on a cedar plank with instructions on the bottom for grilling or roasting the salmon. You’ll have a perfectly cooked piece of fish in under 30 minutes, either way.
The salmon on a cedar plank sells for $10.99 per pound.
It appears Aldi has launched this flavor in the past, along with other cedar plank options. In a Reddit thread, one person posted they cooked it in the oven and “LOVED it”, exclaiming they “got a nice char in the cast iron skillet and finished it in the oven at 400 [degrees] on top of the cedar plank”. This user said “the flavor here was easily in my top 3, and I’ve had salmon at many restaurants, as well as cooked it a lot myself”.

Another person said “can’t beat it” and once more person said “We just had that for lunch! We baked it on the plank in the oven. That honey maple is delicious, definitely going back for more!”.
Some posters on Facebook said they cooked it on the cedar plank in their air fryer and it only took 10 minutes. Others suggested soaking the cedar plank in water for 20 to 30 minutes before cooking so it doesn’t burn. As someone who has grilled on a cedar plank many times, I agree.
Grab a piece of cedar plank salmon at your local Aldi store next week, as it won’t stick around long.
