Summer EBT applications to close at beginning of September
NEW YORK (PIX11) – Still haven’t filled out a Summer EBT application to get some cash to get groceries?
You still have time to apply as the deadline for Summer EBT applications is on Sept. 4. The Summer EBT program gives eligible New York families a one-time payment of $120 per child, which can be used to buy food and other household supplies.
The program is giving out $250 million in grocery benefits to over 2 million children in the state, according to No Kid Hungry.
No Kid Hungry and New York City Council Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala are holding a community event in the Bronx on Friday to discuss Summer EBT and help families check their eligibility. Anyone interested in attending can head to the Mercy Center at 11 a.m. for more information.
