OKCFD highlights smoke alarm safety
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma City Fire Department (OKCFD) is reminding residents to check all smoke alarms in your homes as a matter of safety and peace of mind.
According to fire officials, a smoke alarm saves lives while increasing chances of escaping safely.
Here is a checklist to ensure a peace of mind and protect what matter most:
- Test your alarms today
- Replace batteries if needed
- Install alarms in every bedroom, hallway, and on every level of your home
Firefighters say, if your alarms are over 10 years old, replace them.
OKCFD offers free smoke alarms. Contact (405) 316-BEEP (2337) to schedule your free installation.
