One more hot day before a refreshing cool down this weekend
What We’re Tracking
- Warm, sunny end to the week
- Turning cooler, lower humidity by Sunday
- A few showers next week
Tonight, temperatures will drop into the mid-60s under a mostly clear sky. Winds remain light from the north at around 5 mph.
Friday brings another hot, summerlike day with highs in the low 90s. Dew points in the upper 60s will add a touch of humidity to the air.
A cold front arrives Saturday morning, bringing a few isolated rain chances early in the day. We will dry out by evening, and while it won’t be a washout, keep in mind a brief shower is possible as the front moves through the area. Highs will reach the mid-80s, marking the start of a cooler stretch.
Sunday looks even better, with highs in the upper 70s and plenty of sunshine, a perfect forecast for the Topeka Food Truck Festival.
Behind the front, humidity will drop noticeably. By Monday, highs will only reach the mid-70s, well below the seasonal average in the upper 80s. Overnight lows will fall into the mid-50s, and in some spots even the lower 50s, offering up a refreshing “false fall” feel. A few isolated rain chances will linger into the start of the week.
