Texas launches new stock exchange in Arlington
AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Wednesday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced the launch of a new stock exchange in the Lone Star State.
The announcement was made during an event where Abbott rang the Closing Bell of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
The location of the Texas NYSE was chosen to be in Arlington, according to the governor’s office.
“With Texas' tremendous business success, we have NYSE coming here, growing here, and putting deeper roots in the state of Texas,” Abbott said in a press statement. “This is the home of the economy, and it is going to be the home of financial exchanges going forward."
