Theresa Nist Reacts to Gerry Turner Dating Another ‘Golden Bachelor’ Contestant After Their Divorce

Who knew that Season 1 Golden Bachelor piping-hot tea was going to drop over two years after the show premiered?
Well, it was the Aug. 20 episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour, hosted by Season 1 contestants Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts, who got the inside scoop. Reportedly, Gerry Turner dated another contestant, Christina Kempton, after his divorce from Theresa Nist. So, who better to respond to the former dating situation than Turner’s ex-wife?
“Theresa, I think you know, Gerry dated Christina from our show for a while after…” said Swarts.
Nist revealed that she “now” knew about the secret relationship while claiming she was “actually the one who suggested he go out with Christina.” The unconfirmed romance happened “a while ago,” but it sounded like Noles and Swarts were breaking the news to Nist in real time.
“So did Susan, so did I. So, we’re all on the same page. They went out for, like, six months,” Swarts added.
Nist responded, “I didn’t know that.”
On top of that tea being spilled, Swarts continued to dish out the details that Kempton has reportedly read “part” of Turner’s memoir, Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV, which will be released Nov. 4. As for Nist, she admitted she has not read an advance copy.
As the first-ever Golden Bachelor couple, Turner and Nist fell in love on the series and married in early 2024. Within three months, they announced their divorce. Turner has since moved on with his girlfriend, Lana Sutton, and he gave Nist a little insider tip before they went public in mid-April 2025.
“He said, ‘I just wanna let you know I met someone.’ I said, ‘That’s wonderful. I’m so happy for you.’ He goes, ‘I was afraid to tell you.’ ‘Why would you be afraid? I only want your happiness.’ Like, if this was the way it happened for him to find his person to go on the show, get married, and then find his person this way, then it was meant to be,” Nist told Us Weekly in late April.
Nist is currently single, but “keeping [her] options open” — and we love that for her!
