George Clooney has a long history with Venice, from film premieres to his wedding. Twenty-seven years ago, he attended the Venice Film Festival with “Out of Sight.” Twenty years ago, he debuted “Good Night, and Good Luck,” earning his first best director nomination. Eleven years ago, he married Amal Alamuddin at the Aman Venice hotel. This year, he returns with Noah Baumbach’s comedic drama “Jay Kelly,” alongside Adam Sandler, which premieres on the Lido on Aug. 28. His friend Julia Roberts is also making her Venice debut a day later with “After the Hunt.”
