Meghan Markle Reportedly Has a Job Offer That Could Be Her 'Secret Weapon' to Hollywood Dominance
Meghan Markle may be pivoting more toward Hollywood in her current rebrand era, but it’s not an acting job.
The Duchess of Sussex was offered a role as a global ambassador to the private membership club, Soho House, according to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. Hardcore royal fans know that Meghan and Prince Harry had their first date there at the London location where sparks first flew and their love story began.
“It’s a full-circle moment,” a source told Shuter. “Soho House was her sanctuary long before royalty — now she’s their secret weapon to stay relevant.”
Soho House lost its cachet over the years as other elite clubs emerged and A-list celebrities shifted their loyalties to San Vicente Bungalows, Heist, and Casa Cipriani. Now that Soho House is returning to private ownership after being publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange, the membership team is reportedly becoming more selective about who can enter those doors, according to Page Six.
“There’s a real mix of members who are getting revoked, so it’s not about any one type of person, but more a general theme about the quality of the member,” an insider told the outlet.
That’s where Meghan would come into play if she took the job offer. She would be able to host “empowerment salons” or other social mixers to help “shake up the brand.”
“If anyone can make elitism sound inclusive again, it’s Meghan Markle — and that’s the ultimate brand reboot,” a royal insider explained to Shuter.
Meghan has been popping up more often at high-profile events, including panels and symposiums, so the Soho House offer could be right up her alley. It would be a way to get her philanthropic message out while curating her lifestyle brand in a way she never imagined.
“I see myself as an entrepreneur and a female founder, and if the brand ends up influential, then that’s great,” she told People in March ahead of the launch of her brand, As Ever.
The Duchess of Sussex knows what it takes to reboot an image, and she might be the right person to help SoHo House as they figure out their next chapter.
