Pakistan's military says troops have raided two militant hideouts in the country’s northwest near the Afghan border, killing 15 militants. In a statement Tuesday, it said the first raid was conducted Sunday in Dera Ismail Khan, a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing 10 Pakistani Taliban fighters. A second raid in the region's North Waziristan killed five more militants, it said. The military identified the militants as “Khawarij,” a term Pakistan uses for militants they allege are backed by Afghanistan and India, including those linked to the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. Kabul and New Delhi deny the charge.
