Israeli strikes beyond truce line kill 25 in Gaza, including children
A series of Israeli airstrikes across Gaza has killed at least 25 Palestinians, including children and displaced families, in what officials say is the deadliest breach of the fragile U.S.-brokered ceasefire since it was enacted last month.
The Israeli military said it targeted Hamas fighters after gunmen allegedly opened fire near Israeli positions in Khan Younis. But local health authorities and eyewitnesses report that several of the strikes hit civilian structures far from any fighting, including a mosque, a U.N.-run sports club, and a building belonging to the Ministry of Religious Endowments in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
