Jen Shah Will Be Home by Christmas

Coach Shah, she’s coming home. Jen Shah, the former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member, will be out of prison after serving about 2.5 years of her 6.5-year sentence, per People. The Federal Bureau of Prisons has approved a December 10 release. “Everyone’s very grateful for the BOP’s decision, especially because it means Jen will be able to reunite with her family for the holidays,” Shah’s manager, Chris Giovanni, told People, confirming her release, on November 21. “It’s a gift she doesn’t take for granted.” He added that “she’s done a lot of reflecting and real growth during her time away, and is genuinely not the same woman as she was before.”

Shah pleaded guilty in July 2022 to conspiracy to commit wire fraud for a telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly. The plea marked a change of tune for Shah, who had already spent the entire third season of RHOSLC denying the accusations, going as far as selling “Free Jen Shah” merch. “Free Jen Shah, in its essence, means you’re upholding the constitution,” she claimed in a June 2, 2022, interview.

Shah’s prison sentence has been consistently reduced throughout her time there, per People. First, in March 2023, it was cut by a year down to 5.5 years. Then, in October 2024, it was cut by another eight months. This January, her new release date was set for November 3, 2026, but by August it was reset for August 30, 2026. Now, it’s down by another nine months. Shah’s consistently reduced prison time was because of good behavior and participation in prison programs — Shah ran a workout class, Shah-mazing Abs, reportedly attended by Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.

The obvious question that comes with Shah’s release is whether or not she’ll rejoin the cast of RHOSLC. “Jen Shah — I never want to see again,” Bravo bigwig Andy Cohen said during a behind-the-scenes Q&A at Watch What Happens Live on September 18, 2025. Bravo chairman Frances Berwick contrasted Shah with Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger, who went to prison this year for a DUI, in a November 19 interview with Variety. Huger returned to RHOP because, Berwick said, she showed “accountability.” When asked if Shah’s crimes were less forgivable, Berwick said, “For me personally, yeah. But you know, again, I have no idea on the level of accountability. But yes.” Heather Gay, your other eye is (probably) safe.
