India has reached half of its installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources, meeting this Nationally Determined Contribution target five years early. As of October 31, 2025, non-fossil capacity stands at about 259 GW, with 31.2 GW added in the current financial year, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) said.
