Amorim gets his wish: 22yo Man Utd star set to make long-awaited return vs Bournemouth
Manchester United are set to receive a major fitness boost ahead of their next fixture.
According to Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett, Benjamin Sesko could make his return against AFC Bournemouth next week (15th December).
The Red Devils registered a convincing 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League yesterday.
They will be next in action against the Cherries at Old Trafford on Monday.
It was recently reported that Sesko has returned to individual grass training.
The 22-year-old suffered a knee setback during the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in November.
His injury was deemed not serious after multiple tests but he was still scheduled to spend around a month on the sidelines.
It now seems that his recovery is going well and is on track.
We do not think that Sesko will be named in the starting XI but he could be involved from the bench in the last few minutes.
United head coach Ruben Amorim has relied on Joshua Zirkzee or Matheus Cunha to lead the attack in Sesko’s absence.
Amorim has been steadily giving more game time to Lisandro Martinez from the bench in order to ease him into the action after spending months on the treatment table.
He could adopt a similar cautious approach with Sesko.
The Slovenian has bagged two goals and one assist in just 616 Premier League minutes.
His return will be a massive boost for Amorim with Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo set to be missing a few clashes due to their national commitments.
Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) runs from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
