According to Deadline, this was not a “straight-forward cancellation,” after the show was well reviewed, by critics and viewers alike.
The publication reports the show had internal support and Netflix even had conversations with production studio Sony Pictures Television, analyzing long-tail viewership data.
It’s highly unlikely the series will be able to be shopped around due to Netflix’s strict exclusivity terms.
Boots was created by Andy Parker and was inspired by Greg Cope White‘s book “The Pink Marine.”
The series starred Miles Heizer, Vera Farmiga, Liam Oh, Cedrick Cooper, Ana Ayora, Angus O’Brien, Dominic Goodman, Keiron Moore, Nicholas Logan, Rico Paris, Blake Burt, Logan Gould, Zach Roerig, Jonathan Nieves, Brandon Tyler Moore, Ivan Hoey Jr, Anthony Marble, Joy Osmanski and Max Parker.
Previously, Miles Heizer shared his hopes to continue with the show.
