President Donald Trump’s contentious relationship with news organizations over his time in office has led to a host of legal battles and disputes. Trump's $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the BBC is the latest example. The lawsuit filed Monday accuses the BBC of splicing together two separate parts of Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, speech to misrepresent the meaning of his words. The British broadcaster apologized last month to Trump over the edit but rejected claims it had defamed him. ABC News and the owner of CBS have both settled lawsuits filed by Trump. A federal judge tossed a $15 billion defamation lawsuit Trump filed against The New York Times.
