Police in Ballia district apprehended Sablu Rajbhar within seven hours of a reported rape of a 12-year-old girl. The suspect, identified during a night patrol, opened fire on officers and was shot in the leg during a retaliatory exchange. He confessed to the crime and was found with an illegal firearm.
