Kashmir is now connected to the national freight rail network. The first Food Corporation of India foodgrain freight train arrived at Anantnag Goods Terminal. This marks a significant integration for the region. The train carried approximately 1,384 tonnes of rice. This development ensures efficient foodgrain supply to the Valley. It will also reduce transportation costs and boost local markets.
