Huge Nintendo Switch 2 'Cyberpunk 2077' Sale May Have Been A Complete Accident 

Yesterday, many Nintendo Switch 2 owners were greeted with an almost unbelievable sight: Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition was on sale on Nintendo's own eShop for just $17.49. Today, it seems that the sale may have been completely unintentional, as the game is now listed back for full price at $69.99.

Originally, many fans were hopeful but speculative that such a huge sale for the game would happen, as the Switch 2 version of the game has only been available for a few months. The Ultimate Edition also includes the Phantom Liberty expansion, which is rarely on sale for that low a price, let alone bundled with the full game.

In a press release from Nintendo, which was captured by Wario64 on X, it seemed the sale was legit, as the game was listed for 75 percent off by Nintendo itself. However, some gamers treaded carefully, while others jumped on the sale and immediately bought it.

Today, the game is now listed for its base retail price of $69.99 again, also captured by Wario64, and has been verified by Men's Journal. The game is also now full price on Nintendo's official website.

The game sale was available for around 12 hours, so some fans were able to indeed purchase it for the price of $17.49. Nintendo has not yet released a statement on the sale, whether purchases will be retracted, or if the sale was even intentional at all.

Wario64 is also suggesting fans take their Switch 2 offline for a few days to see if Nintendo will attempt to revoke the digital purchases of this sale, as fans wait for official word from Nintendo or developer CD Projekt Red.

Several fans in Wario64's X thread are debating whether Nintendo can legally revoke the purchase of the game, while others claim they are enjoying the game with no issues.

Either way, with the sale of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition abruptly ending, but with other sales ongoing, it seems like the sale was unintentional.
