The Hemant Soren-led JMM has proposed a pre-poll alliance with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee for the upcoming assembly elections. The tribal party aims to contest in seats bordering Jharkhand, north Bengal districts, and those previously lost by TMC to the BJP. Talks are currently in the informal stages, with JMM keen to expand its political footprint.
