Michelle Obama Faces Bizarre Romance Rumor After Fake Barack Obama & Jennifer Aniston Gossip
Over the last two years, Jennifer Aniston was the subject of a random affair rumor with Barack Obama. It was never true, but it kept resurfacing again and again. Now, it’s Michelle Obama’s turn.
The former First Lady has been attached to comedian Kumail Nanjiani even though the two have never met. The Big Sick star shared the story on the December 25 podcast episode of So True With Caleb Hearon.
Nanjiani revealed that his wife, Emily Gordon, was the first one to hear about the very untrue rumor.
“My friend, our mutual friend, pulled Emily aside and was like, ‘Hey, so I heard that Kumail and Michelle Obama are like doing it.’ And she was like, she wasn’t even upset, but multiple people brought it up to me,” he said on the podcast while joking that he was “so excited” to be linked to Michelle. “I have never met Michelle Obama.”
Hearon quipped, “What I’m saying is, my friend Kumail, you’re up there with Jen Aniston in terms of affair rumors.”
Of course, Nanjiani had to finish off the Oval Office tea with a joke, claiming that the Obamas were “slumming it” with him and Aniston — and “no shade to Jen,” he added.
Aniston’s rumor began in August 2024 when In Touch Weekly published a cover story in their print edition titled, “The Truth About Jen & Barack.” The article claimed that the former president and Aniston were “obsessed with each other” and Michelle felt “betrayed” because the Friends star stole away “her husband’s attention.”
In October 2024, Aniston appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to refute the story with her good-natured humor.
“Of all the calls you get from your publicist where you’re like, ‘Oh no, what’s it gonna be?’ Or the emails saying some cheesy tabloid’s going to make up a story and then it’s that,” Aniston shared. “I was not mad at it.”
She then doubled down to make sure everyone understood that the story was false. “It is untrue. I’ve met him [Obama] once,” Aniston stated. “I know Michelle more than him.”
The affair rumors came on the heels of unfounded stories about the Obamas’ pending divorce. The couple has been candid about their “really hard times,” but splitting up was never an option, according to Michelle.
“There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man. And we’ve had some really hard times,” she said on the July 16 episode of her podcast, IMO. “We have had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
So, Nanjiani and Aniston have not interfered with the Obamas’ marriage even though internet rumors would like you to believe so.
