Armed Israeli reservist rams vehicle into Palestinian man offering Namaz; disturbing video goes viral | Watch
Israel and Hamas have repeatedly accused each other of violating the US-brokered ceasefire plan that halted two years of war triggered by the Hamas-led invasion of southern Israel on October 7, 2023.The first phase of the truce stopped the fighting, but occasional deadly clashes have continued, mostly along the so-called Yellow Line that divides Hamas and Israeli-held territory, The Times of Israel reported.
According to the Israeli military, on Thursday, a reservist soldier from Israel drove his vehicle into a Palestinian man while he was praying on a roadside in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, after earlier firing shots in the area, as reported by Reuters.
In a statement, authorities said they received footage showing an armed individual running over a Palestinian individual, adding that the person was a reservist. As per the Reuters report, the Israeli reservist soldier’s military service has been terminated.
According to the Israeli military, the reservist has acted “in severe violation of his authority” and had his weapon confiscated. Israeli media reported that the reservist is currently placed under house arrest, while the injured Palestinian man received treatment at a local hospital following the incident; however, he has sustained no further injuries and is now at home.

In the video, the Palestinian man is seen falling after the Israeli man crashes the car into him. Then, the soldier, dressed in civilian clothing in the video, yells at him and gestures at him to get out of there. After the attack, the Palestinian man visited the hospital, but he was unharmed and is currently at home. The Palestinian man’s father, Majdi Abu Mokho, claimed that following the incident, his son is now experiencing pain in both of his legs. Additionally, he said that the military doused his son with pepper spray, even though it has not been shown in the video.
“The assailant is a known settler. He set up an outpost near the village, and with other settlers he comes to graze his livestock, blocks the road and provokes the residents,” Mokho was quoted as saying by AFP. The Times of Israel stated the man was captured and arrested Thursday evening and placed under house arrest for five days. The report also states that the accused opened fire inside the village earlier this week; the Israeli Defence Forces have labelled this as a “severe breach of authority”.
