'Stranger Things' Star Noah Schnapp Shares His Thoughts on Will's Big Monologue
Noah Schnapp is reflecting on his big monologue in Stranger Things season 5 volume 2.
The 21-year-old actor, who plays Will Byers on the Netflix show, had a coming out scene in the latest batch of episodes. His character his gay and Noah is gay in real life, having come out publicly in January 2023.

Asked about whether he was worried about the scene, Noah admitted he did wonder if he’d need to do some workshopping, but ultimately he was thrilled with what Ross and Matt Duffer came up with on the page.
“I was just in tears,” Noah told Variety. “It was perfect.”
As for the actual filming, The Tutor star says it was a 12-hour day to film that monologue and it wasn’t even finished after that.
“We came back a week later to reshoot certain parts of the scene for another 12 hours. It was like, ‘Oh my God, how many more times can I do this scene?’ But it was also nice because it allowed me to try so many different things,” he revealed. “I never felt stuck to anything. I got advice from Maya on how to prepare for it, because there were so many lines, more lines than I’d ever had before.”
His co-star Maya Hawke had a similar coming out scene in season 3.
