Watch: Topgolf's 100-Foot Net Collapses During Freezing Weather
A player was literally in the middle of his swing while stationed at his bay at a Topgolf when, out of nowhere, the venue's giant net came crashing down.
The Detroit Free Press obtained video of the calamity that unfolded Sunday at the Auburn Hills, Michigan, location.
The outlet reports that an ice storm recently pummeled the area. Ice buildup on the gigantic nets, which are 150 feet, is the culprit.
You can see in the video the golfer's about to hit the ball when the net crashing down stops him in his tracks. You can also hear everyone in the background gasp at what's unfolding before their eyes.
Topgolf was forced to close after the nets came crashing down. On its website, Topgolf's Auburn Hills location stated that the nets were impacted by recent weather, prompting the venue to temporarily change its hours.
What's more, the location stated on social media that it was forced to cancel its New Year's Eve party.
