New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday raided not one but ten locations in Delhi, Gurugram and Rohtak in connection with a money laundering case which it is investigating against Rao Inderjeet Yadav, a history-sheeter who has fled to the UAE. The investigative agency seized luxury cars, bank lockers, Rs 17 lakhs cash, incriminating papers, digital devices and digital data during the search operation.
The probe has been initiated against Yadav who fled the country after the murder of a businessman in Rohtak last year. The investigative agency has made his accused in extortion, coercive loan settlement of private financiers, armed intimidation, taking commission from illegal activities
The probe agency’s action came after Haryana and Uttar Pradesh police filed more than 15 cases and chargesheets against Yadav.
Who Is Rao Inderjeet Yadav
Rao Inderjeet Yadav owned the music company – Gem Records Entertainment Pvt Ltd which he founded in 2006. His company runs as a video-on-demand (OTT) platform that makes regional songs in languages like – Haryanvi, Punjabi, and Hindi.
Yadav, who enjoys 12 lakh followings on Instagram created an engagement on the social media platform with Bollywood celebrities.
It is to be noted that, Yadav’s name has been highlighted in criminal activities such as murder, extortion, illegal loan settlements, fraud, cheating, and land grabbing.
What Did The ED Say?
The investigative agency stated that Yadav “acted as a strongman and enforcer”, facilitating coercive settlement of some high-value private loan transactions and financial disputes running into hundreds of crores.
“The income so generated by Yadav from these fraudulent ways, running into crores, was allegedly used for the acquisition of immovable properties, luxury cars, and maintaining a luxurious life while declaring minimum income tax returns,” the agency said.
Rao Inderjeet Yadav’s Criminal History
In December 2024, Manjeet Dighal, a financier by profession was brutally killed in Rohtak. Himanshu Bhau gang claimed the responsibility for the killing. Yadav’s name came up in the case.
He then fled the country.
In august singer Rahul Fazilpuria’s aide named Rohit Shaukeen was killed in Gurugram. Yadav and his gang claimed responsibility for the murder.
His name was mentioned in the suicide note of Haryana Assistant Sub-Inspector Sandeep Kumar Lathar in October this year.
